Mathura (Uttar Pradesh): In a shocking incident, five members of a family were found dead inside their residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district, sending shockwaves through the local community. The police suspect that the deaths may be the result of a mass suicide, though investigations are still underway to determine the exact circumstances.
According to officials, the bodies were discovered after neighbours alerted the police due to the house remaining locked for an unusually long time. Upon entering the premises, authorities found the deceased, including a couple and their children. Preliminary observations suggest no signs of forced entry, strengthening the suspicion of suicide.
Senior police officers said initial evidence points towards financial stress and personal issues as possible reasons behind the extreme step, but no suicide note has been recovered so far. Forensic teams have collected samples from the scene, and post-mortem examinations have been ordered to establish the cause of death.
“The matter is being investigated from all angles. While it appears to be a case of suicide, we are not ruling out any possibility until the forensic and post-mortem reports are received,” a police official said.
The incident has left neighbours and relatives in disbelief, with many describing the family as quiet and reserved. Counselling support is being extended to close relatives, while local authorities have urged people facing distress to seek help rather than resort to such drastic measures.
Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
