NEW DELHI — The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday, March 6, 2026, declared the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025. Anuj Agnihotri, a medical graduate from AIIMS Jodhpur, has secured the prestigious All India Rank (AIR) 1, leading a diverse group of 958 successful candidates recommended for India’s elite administrative services.

Following closely are Rajeshwari Suve M, an engineer from Anna University, who secured AIR 2, and Akansh Dhull, a commerce graduate from Delhi University’s SRCC, who bagged AIR 3.

The Merit List: Top 10 Performers

The 2025 merit list reflects a mix of professional backgrounds, with technical and medical professionals continuing to dominate the top spots.

A Journey of Perseverance

For AIR 1 topper Anuj Agnihotri, the third time was the charm. Hailing from Rawatbhata in Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh district, Agnihotri was already serving as a DANICS (Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service) officer trainee while preparing for this attempt.

“I’m still trying to process the results,” Agnihotri told reporters. “The journey to UPSC is grueling, but the final result makes every effort feel worth it. I was drawn to the services because of their dynamic nature.”

Result Highlights & Statistics

The Commission reported a rigorous selection process that began with the Preliminary exam in May 2025, followed by the Mains in August 2025, and interviews ending in February 2026.

Total Vacancies: 1,087 (including 180 IAS, 55 IFS, and 150 IPS).

Total Recommended: 958 candidates (659 men and 299 women).

Top 25 Balance: The top 25 includes 11 women and 14 men, showcasing a strong performance by female candidates.

Category Breakdown: The recommended list includes 317 General, 104 EWS, 306 OBC, 158 SC, and 73 ST candidates.

The UPSC has also maintained a reserve list of 258 candidates to fill any subsequent vacancies. Candidates can check their individual marks on the official website, upsc.gov.in, which are expected to be uploaded within the next 15 days.
