PALAKKAD, KERALA — Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party today, accusing it of playing “dangerous” politics during the ongoing West Asia crisis. Addressing a massive NDA election rally in Palakkad, the Prime Minister alleged that the opposition’s rhetoric is actively endangering the lives of nearly one crore Indians currently living and working in Gulf countries.
National Safety Over Political Gain
The Prime Minister emphasized that the safety of the Indian diaspora—particularly those from Kerala—remains the government’s absolute priority as conflict continues between the U.S., Israel, and Iran.
“You must remember the kind of statements the Congress is making on this sensitive issue—they are dangerous,” PM Modi told the crowd. “Congress wants the lives of nearly one crore Indians in the Gulf to be put at risk just so it can gain a political advantage.”
He warned that such “self-serving politics” could undermine delicate diplomatic efforts and create unnecessary hardships for Indian citizens abroad.
Government’s Crisis Response
Amid escalating tensions that have disrupted global energy corridors like the Strait of Hormuz, PM Modi assured the nation that the Centre is working around the clock to minimize the war’s impact on India.
Key updates shared by the Prime Minister:
Constant Diplomacy: The PM has been in direct contact with the heads of state of all involved nations to ensure the safety of stranded Indians.
24/7 Embassy Support: Indian missions in the Gulf are operating day and night to provide food, medical aid, and legal assistance.
Energy Security: Efforts are underway to shield India from the global fuel crisis and volatile petrol and diesel prices.
Successful Evacuations: More than 375,000 Indians have already been brought back safely since the conflict began on February 28.
A Call for National Unity
In a separate address during his Mann Ki Baat radio program earlier today, the Prime Minister urged citizens to stay vigilant against rumors. He called for a united front, stating that the current global turbulence requires a collective national effort rather than partisan finger-pointing.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come at a high-stakes moment for Kerala, which is set to head to the polls on April 9, 2026. Modi framed the upcoming election as a choice between the “scam-ridden” politics of the LDF and UDF and the “development-focused” governance of the NDA.
“The mood in Kerala has transformed into a movement,” Modi asserted, claiming that the state is ready to reject the “masks of selfish politics” in favor of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
