In a candid message to employees, N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Air India, acknowledged that the airline is currently navigating a challenging phase and urged staff to remain focused on disciplined execution and long-term goals.
Chandrasekaran highlighted that while the airline has made significant progress since returning to the Tata Group, the journey toward transformation is far from complete. He emphasized that operational hurdles, service consistency, and integration processes continue to demand attention.
Addressing employees, he stressed the importance of maintaining high standards in customer experience, punctuality, and reliability. He noted that execution at every level of the organization would be the key factor in overcoming present difficulties and building a stronger, globally competitive airline.
The chairman also pointed out that the aviation industry remains highly dynamic, with external pressures such as rising costs, global uncertainties, and intense competition adding to the complexity of operations. Despite this, he expressed confidence in the airline’s workforce and its ability to deliver results.
Air India has been undergoing a massive overhaul, including fleet expansion, branding changes, and system upgrades. Chandrasekaran reiterated that these efforts are part of a long-term vision and encouraged employees to stay committed during this transition period.
He concluded by urging teams across departments to work collaboratively, remain resilient, and focus on consistent execution to ensure the airline achieves its ambitious turnaround goals.
