MUMBAI — Marvel’s favorite web-slinger has ignited a frenzy at the Indian box office. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, delivered a powerhouse performance on Saturday, driving its total three-day gross collection in India past the ₹200 crore milestone to sit at an estimated ₹207 crore–₹215 crore.

Following a record-breaking Thursday opening and a mild Friday lull, the film witnessed a massive weekend surge across major circuits.

A Spectacular Saturday Surge

The third installment led by director Destin Daniel Cretton saw Saturday collections skyrocket by over 45% compared to Friday. The movie accumulated around ₹81 crore gross (₹67 crore nett) on Saturday alone, driven by heavy footfalls in Northern metros such as Mumbai and Delhi-NCR. Southern circuits also bounced back sharply to match opening-day levels.

Three-Day India Box Office Summary

Day 1 (Thursday): ₹70.50 Cr – ₹72.44 Cr gross (Record Thursday Opening)

Day 2 (Friday): ₹55.50 Cr – ₹59.03 Cr gross

Day 3 (Saturday): ₹81.00 Cr – ₹84.01 Cr gross (Highest single day for a Hollywood title)

Total 3-Day India Gross: ₹207 Cr – ₹215 Cr (Approx. ₹171 Cr – ₹180 Cr Nett)

Multilingual Dominance Across Indian Territories

The superhero venture benefited significantly from a wide multi-language release in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

English Original: Retained its hold in urban multiplexes, contributing the largest share of ticket sales.

Hindi Dub: Emerged as the strongest dubbed format, recording exceptional occupancy rates above 90% in several single-screen and multiplex properties.

Regional Dubs: Added steady support across South Indian territories including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

Outperforming Domestic & International Giants

With this explosive start, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has already outpaced the first three-day nett hauls of several major Indian blockbusters, including Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (₹161 Cr nett) and Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 (₹144 Cr nett).

With massive advance bookings lined up for Sunday, trade analysts project the movie’s extended 4-day opening weekend to easily cross ₹275 crore to ₹300 crore gross in India alone. Trade insiders expect the movie to challenge the lifetime Indian theatrical record for a Hollywood film—currently held by Avatar: The Way of Water (₹465 crore)—and potentially push toward the ₹500 crore benchmark during its theatrical run.
