Ranchi, Jharkhand: The agitation over alleged irregularities in government job examinations in Jharkhand is set to escalate, with protest leaders announcing a second phase of demonstrations aimed at ensuring transparency and fairness in the recruitment process.
Speaking to supporters during an ongoing protest, activist leader Devendra Mahto declared that the movement would continue until concrete steps are taken to eliminate corruption in job examinations. He emphasized that the youth of the state have been repeatedly affected by alleged paper leaks, delays, and irregularities, which have undermined their trust in the system.
“The fight is not just about jobs, but about justice and the future of thousands of aspirants,” Mahto said while addressing a gathering in Ranchi. He added that the upcoming phase of protests would be more organized and widespread, involving students, job aspirants, and civil society groups across multiple districts.
The protests, which began earlier this month, have seen large participation from candidates preparing for state-level competitive examinations. Demonstrators have been demanding a thorough investigation into past examination processes, strict action against those responsible for malpractice, and the implementation of transparent mechanisms for future recruitment.
Officials from the state government have acknowledged the concerns and assured that necessary measures are being considered. However, protestors argue that previous assurances have not translated into meaningful action, prompting them to intensify their agitation.
Security has been tightened in key areas of Ranchi as authorities remain cautious about the possibility of larger gatherings in the coming days. Meanwhile, student organizations have extended their support to the movement, calling for a unified stand against corruption in public examinations.
With the announcement of the second phase, the issue is likely to gain further political attention, potentially putting pressure on the state administration to respond more decisively. As the protests gather momentum, the demand for a corruption-free recruitment system continues to resonate strongly among the youth of Jharkhand.
