Mirzapur: The Movie continues its dominant run at the ticket windows, successfully passing the crucial mid-week hold test. Proving its transition from a massively popular OTT series to a big-screen spectacle to be a highly lucrative move, the film has netted approximately Rs 135 crore in India within just five days of its release.
Following a massive opening weekend that saw the film rake in Rs 32 crore and Rs 36 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively, the crime thriller maintained steady audience interest during the weekdays. The film registered a solid Monday with Rs 16 crore, followed by Rs 15-15.60 crore on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Mirzapur: The Movie showcased exceptional holding power, bringing in roughly Rs 12 to 12.55 crore net.
The film has notably avoided the steep mid-week drop that often affects major releases. With an India gross collection currently soaring past the Rs 157 crore mark, the international markets are also contributing significantly. Overseas collections have added steadily to the film’s coffers, pushing the worldwide gross to over Rs 193 crore in six days. The film is now firmly on track to breach the coveted Rs 200 crore global milestone before the end of its first full week.
Trade analysts project that if the film maintains its current momentum into its second weekend, its lifetime net collections could easily cross Rs 250 crore in India, cementing its status as a blockbuster.
Mirzapur: The Movie reunites fans with the gritty, ruthless world of Purvanchal. Featuring an ensemble cast that includes Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, and Abhishek Banerjee, the film has successfully expanded on the criminal empires, power struggles, and revenge sagas that made the original series a pop-culture phenomenon.
