HONG KONG – The first chapter of the 2025 MAMA Awards, held at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium on Friday, November 28, saw K-pop group ENHYPEN and solo artist Rosé take home two of the night’s most prestigious Grand Prizes (Daesangs).
ENHYPEN’s dedicated fanbase, known as ENGENEs, proved their strength by securing the coveted Fans’ Choice of the Year Daesang for the group. The seven-member act also received the TELASA Favorite Global Artist award, underlining their powerful international appeal. Group members were visibly emotional upon receiving the Fans’ Choice award, which comes just two days before their fifth debut anniversary, calling it a “5th-anniversary gift” from their fans.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s Rosé added another major accolade to her career, winning the Song of the Year Daesang for her global hit collaboration with Bruno Mars, “APT.” Rosé accepted the award via a video message, expressing her joy and gratitude to both her fans and her collaborator, “Bruno! We won!”
A Night of Fan Favorites and Global Achievements
Day 1, focused largely on fan-voted and achievement awards, celebrated many of K-pop’s most dynamic groups.
Girl group IVE was another major winner, walking away with three awards: Favorite Female Group, Favorite Global Performer, and Global Trend Song for their track “REBEL HEART.”
Rookie boy group BOYNEXTDOOR was named Favorite Male Group.
K-pop legends Super Junior were honored with the Inspiring Achievement award, celebrating their decades-long influence on the industry.
The Fans’ Choice Top 10 awards recognized a broad array of talent, including SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, ZEROBASEONE, Baekhyun, G-Dragon, and aespa.
Despite the celebratory atmosphere, the ceremony proceeded with a thoughtful, subdued tone following a recent tragic fire in Hong Kong. The hosts and winners, including ENHYPEN, took moments to express their condolences and commit to charity donations for the victims, ensuring the event served as a platform for comfort and hope.
The 2025 MAMA Awards will conclude on Saturday, November 29, with Chapter 2, where the remaining Grand Prizes—Album of the Year and Artist of the Year—will be announced.
