Mumbai: The intense romantic drama, ‘Tere Ishk Mein’, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, has continued its surprisingly strong run at the box office, pushing its total collection past the ₹26 crore mark after its first two days. The film, which marks the highly anticipated reunion between Dhanush and director Aanand L Rai, is performing exceptionally well in the Hindi belt and has firmly established itself as a major opener for the year.
The movie started on a phenomenal note, exceeding all trade expectations on its opening day (Friday). Against predictions that estimated a start around ₹10 crore, ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ netted an impressive ₹16 crore across India. This massive opening makes the film the 8th biggest opening day of 2025 overall, and the second-best opening for a romantic film this year.
The momentum carried into Saturday, Day 2. As of the evening shows, the film added an estimated ₹10.38 crore to its tally.
Day 1 (Friday) ₹16.00 Crore
Day 2 (Saturday – till evening) ₹10.38 Crore
Total Cumulative Collection ₹26.38 Crore
The bulk of the film’s earnings is driven by the Hindi version, which contributed ₹15.25 crore on Day 1, compared to a meager ₹0.75 crore from the Tamil version. Trade experts have expressed disappointment over the film’s limited release in Tamil Nadu, criticizing the decision given the star power of lead actor Dhanush in the region.
Despite a non-holiday release, the film has found strong patronage in both mass pockets and urban centers, signaling a promising weekend ahead. All eyes are now on the final figures for Saturday and the crucial Sunday collection, as the film looks to maintain its pace and convert its phenomenal start into a certified box office HIT.
