Born as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad in 1950, Rajinikanth took up various jobs before joining the Bangalore Transport Service as a bus conductor. His charisma and unique style were visible even then, earning him admiration from passengers and colleagues alike.
Encouraged to pursue acting, he enrolled at the Madras Film Institute, where director K. Balachander noticed his talent and gave him his debut role in Apoorva Raagangal (1975). There was no looking back.
