Mumbai: Fans of Nitesh Tiwari’s highly-anticipated epic, ‘Ramayana’, are in for a massive surprise this December. Reports confirm that a special 3D teaser for the film, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, is set to be screened in theatres alongside the much-awaited Hollywood release, James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’.
This marks the first time audiences will get a 3D glimpse of the visually ambitious project on the big screen, months ahead of its planned theatrical release.
The star-studded film features Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Ram, with Sai Pallavi portraying Sita, and actor Yash taking on the pivotal role of the antagonist, Ravana. The cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The decision to attach the 3D teaser to ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ is seen as a strategic move to tap into a wide audience of cinema lovers who appreciate large-scale visual spectacles.
Sources indicate that the teaser will showcase stunning visual effects, crafted by the eight-time Oscar-winning visual effects studio DNEG. This studio was also responsible for the initial glimpse of the film released earlier in July, which generated immense buzz among fans for its scale and detail. The upcoming 3D format promises an even more immersive experience for viewers.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor, speaking previously about the project, expressed his profound connection to the role, stating that the film is “India’s greatest story.” He emphasized the excitement of narrating the epic to a new generation using advanced technology, calling it a “very exciting and very gratifying opportunity” to play Lord Ram.
The first part of the ‘Ramayana’ trilogy is currently scheduled for a grand worldwide release during Diwali in 2026. Until then, the December debut of the new 3D teaser offers a thrilling sneak peek into one of Indian cinema’s most monumental productions.
