In the final edition of his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ for 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected on a year he described as one of “proud milestones” and “unprecedented confidence” for India.
Addressing the country in the 129th episode on December 28, 2025, the Prime Minister recapped significant achievements spanning national security, sports, space exploration, and cultural heritage.
National Security: ‘Operation Sindoor’
The Prime Minister opened his address by highlighting India’s firm stance on national security. He specifically lauded ‘Operation Sindoor’, a military action that took place earlier in the year to dismantle terror infrastructure.
“Operation Sindoor became a symbol of pride for every Indian. The world clearly saw that today’s Bharat does not compromise on its security. The images of devotion towards Mother India that emerged during this period reflect our collective strength.”
A Golden Year for Indian Sports
PM Modi termed 2025 a “memorable year” for the sporting world, noting that Indian athletes had excelled across various formats:
Men’s Cricket: Clinching the ICC Champions Trophy.
Women’s Cricket: Winning their first-ever World Cup in November.
Inclusivity: A historic victory by India’s daughters in the Women’s Blind T20 World Cup.
Para-athletes: A record-breaking medal haul at the World Championships.
Giant Leaps in Science and Space
Reflecting on India’s scientific prowess, the PM celebrated the achievement of Shubhanshu Shukla, who became the first Indian to reach the International Space Station (ISS) in June 2025.
He also touched upon environmental milestones, noting that the Cheetah population in India has now crossed the 30-mark, signaling success in wildlife conservation efforts.
Faith, Culture, and ‘Swadeshi’
The Prime Minister noted that 2025 began and ended with massive cultural milestones:
Prayagraj Mahakumbh: An event at the start of the year that “astonished the entire world” with its scale and organization.
Ayodhya Ram Mandir: The year-end ‘Dhwajarohan’ (flag hoisting) ceremony, which the PM said filled every Indian heart with pride.
He also praised the growing shift toward ‘Vocal for Local’, stating that citizens are increasingly choosing products that “bear the sweat of an Indian and the fragrance of Indian soil.”
