NEW DELHI, November 26, 2025 — In a major breakthrough in the investigation into the November 10 Red Fort car blast, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a seventh accused, identified as Soyab, for allegedly harbouring and providing logistical support to the suicide bomber, Dr. Umar Un Nabi.
Soyab, a resident of Dhauj in Faridabad, Haryana, was taken into custody by the central agency on Wednesday. The blast, which occurred outside the Red Fort in the national capital, claimed several lives and injured many others.
Key Role in Logistics
According to an NIA spokesperson, investigations have revealed that Soyab played a crucial role in aiding the main perpetrator immediately before the deadly attack.
Harbouring the Terrorist: Soyab allegedly provided shelter to terrorist Umar Un Nabi shortly before the November 10th car bombing. He is reported to have arranged for Umar Un Nabi to stay at his sister-in-law’s residence in Nuh, among other locations.
Logistical Support: The accused is also charged with providing various forms of logistical support, which facilitated the movement and final preparation of Umar Un Nabi ahead of the blast.
Soyab reportedly worked as a ward boy at Al-Falah University in Faridabad and was acquainted with Umar Un Nabi and other co-conspirators who were also associated with the university.
Expanding the Terror Network
Soyab’s arrest brings the total number of individuals apprehended in connection with the case to seven, underscoring the NIA’s relentless efforts to dismantle the entire terror module. The agency is probing a “white-collar” terror network believed to be associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, operating across several states including Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
The previously arrested six individuals include:
Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganai, Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay (all from Jammu and Kashmir)
Dr. Shaheen Saeed (from Lucknow, UP)
Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the blast vehicle was registered.
Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, who provided technical assistance.
The NIA continues to conduct coordinated searches across multiple states, working closely with state police forces to track down every individual involved in the conspiracy. The agency aims to unravel the full extent of the module responsible for one of the most serious terror attacks in the capital in recent years.
