Filmmaker Chidambaram, best known for directing the Malayalam blockbuster Manjummel Boys, has been booked by police following a sexual harassment complaint filed by an actor, officials confirmed on Monday.
According to preliminary reports, the complaint was lodged at a local police station alleging inappropriate behavior during professional interactions. The actor claimed that the alleged incidents occurred while discussions related to a film project were underway. Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the law and initiated an investigation.
Police sources stated that statements from both parties will be recorded as part of the inquiry. “We have received the complaint and the matter is under investigation. Due process will be followed,” an official said, declining to provide further details given the sensitive nature of the case.
