MUMBAI, November 24, 2025 — Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra has passed away at the age of 89 at his residence in Juhu, Mumbai, marking the end of a six-decade-long career that made him one of Indian cinema’s most beloved icons. The veteran star, fondly known as the “He-Man of Bollywood,” was reportedly battling age-related health issues, including respiratory complications, in recent weeks.
The news of his demise sent shockwaves through the film industry and among his millions of fans worldwide. His passing comes just weeks after he was discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment for a deterioration in his health.
🚨 Ambulance Sighting and Heightened Security
The initial confirmation of the tragedy began with a flurry of activity outside his Juhu home on Monday afternoon. An ambulance was spotted leaving the actor’s residence under heavy security, sparking immediate and intense media speculation.
Simultaneously, security was significantly tightened at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, near the Juhu area, as the family began making arrangements for the funeral. Police personnel were deployed to manage the growing crowds of mourning fans, journalists, and well-wishers who rushed to the location.

The actor’s final rites were held at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in the presence of his immediate family and close friends from the film fraternity.
His sons, actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, were present, with Sunny Deol reportedly performing the last rites.
Wife and veteran actress Hema Malini and their daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, also arrived at the crematorium to pay their respects.
The event saw a gathering of Bollywood’s biggest names, including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Aamir Khan, all of whom arrived to offer condolences to the grieving Deol family.
Filmmaker Karan Johar was among the first from the industry to confirm the news, posting an emotional tribute stating, “It is an end of an ERA… a massive mega star… the embodiment of a HERO in mainstream cinema.”
Dharmendra leaves behind an unforgettable cinematic legacy, having starred in over 300 films, including classics like Sholay, Satyakam, and Chupke Chupke.
