In a significant address to the Lok Sabha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah outlined the government’s ongoing strategy and commitment to eliminating the threat of Naxalism across the country.
Speaking during a parliamentary session, Shah emphasized that the government has adopted a multi-pronged approach combining security operations, infrastructure development, and welfare initiatives to curb the influence of Naxalism. He noted that areas once heavily affected by extremist activities are witnessing gradual improvement due to sustained efforts by central and state agencies.
The Home Minister highlighted a significant decline in Naxal-related violence over the past few years, attributing this progress to better coordination between security forces and local administrations. He also pointed out that increased road connectivity, mobile network expansion, and access to basic services have played a crucial role in weakening extremist networks.
Shah further reiterated that the government remains committed to ensuring the safety and development of tribal and rural populations living in previously affected regions. He stressed that bringing these communities into the mainstream is key to achieving long-term peace.
During the session, opposition members raised concerns regarding the implementation of policies and the need for continued vigilance. In response, Shah assured the House that the government is closely monitoring the situation and will take all necessary steps to completely eradicate the menace.
The address reflects the Centre’s continued focus on strengthening internal security while promoting inclusive development in vulnerable regions.
