A young tech professional lost his life after his car plunged into a water-filled pit in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, in a tragic accident that has raised serious questions about road safety and construction practices in the area. Moments before the incident turned fatal, the victim made a frantic phone call to his father, saying he did not want to die.
According to police officials, the incident occurred late at night when the man was driving through a poorly lit stretch of road in Noida. His vehicle reportedly veered off the road and fell into a deep pit filled with water, believed to be part of an ongoing construction or excavation project. The pit was allegedly uncovered and lacked proper barricading or warning signs.
During the fall, the victim managed to place a call to his father, expressing fear and panic as water rapidly filled the car. Rescue teams were alerted soon after, but by the time locals and emergency services reached the spot, it was too late. The man was pulled out of the submerged vehicle and rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Preliminary investigations suggest that poor visibility, absence of safety barriers, and negligence at the construction site may have contributed to the accident. The police have registered a case and are examining whether construction agencies or local authorities failed to follow safety norms.
Family members of the deceased have demanded strict action against those responsible, alleging gross negligence that cost a young man his life. The incident has sparked outrage among residents, who say uncovered pits and unsafe construction zones are a recurring danger on Noida’s roads.
Authorities have assured that a detailed probe is underway and that accountability will be fixed once the investigation is complete.
