Bengaluru Bowlers Blitz Delhi: Capitals Crumble for 75 in Dramatic Kotla Clash

NEW DELHI – In a night of absolute mayhem at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pace attack left the Delhi Capitals (DC) in ruins, skittling them for a meager 75 runs in just 16.3 overs. The match, which saw a sudden dust storm briefly halt play, was dominated by a masterclass in swing and seam bowling from Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

The Collapse: From 8/6 to 75 All Out

After winning the toss and electing to bowl, RCB’s decision paid dividends almost instantly. The Delhi top order was dismantled in a historic collapse that saw them reeling at 8 for 6 within the first four overs.

Josh Hazlewood led the charge with clinical figures of 4/12, consistently hitting the deck and extracting movement.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was equally lethal, finishing with 3/5 in a spell that reminded fans why he remains one of the most respected swing bowlers in the game.

Abishek Porel provided the only semblance of resistance for the home side, top-scoring with 30 off 33 balls to help DC avoid the ignominy of breaking RCB’s own record for the lowest IPL total (49).

Kohli Chases History

As RCB began their modest chase of 76, all eyes turned to Virat Kohli. Coming into this game in scintillating form and holding the Orange Cap with 328 runs, Kohli remains on the verge of another milestone.

While the target is small, Kohli’s presence at the crease has kept the crowd on their feet. Current reports indicate he is just 3 runs away from breaking a significant all-time IPL record (likely total fours or a specific milestone for a single franchise), adding another layer of intrigue to an otherwise one-sided affair.

Nature Intervenes

The drama wasn’t limited to the pitch. A sudden dust storm swept across the stadium during the first innings, causing a drop in visibility that forced officials to suspend play temporarily. While the weather added a layer of grit to the evening, it couldn’t save DC from a clinical RCB bowling unit.

Match Summary (At the break)

Team Score Top Performer

Delhi Capitals 75 All Out (16.3 ov) Abishek Porel (30)

RCB Bowling Josh Hazlewood (4/12), B. Kumar (3/5)

RCB currently leads the chase and looks set to jump to the top of the points table with a massive boost to their Net Run Rate.
