Ranchi: The political confrontation over protests in Jharkhand intensified after BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, urging him to take concrete political action instead of writing letters.
Shahdeo’s remarks came amid growing political tension surrounding protests in the state. The BJP spokesperson questioned the Congress leadership’s approach and said that issuing letters would not address the concerns raised by protesters.
“Rahul Gandhi should stop writing letters and instead come forward and address the issue on the ground,” Shahdeo said, accusing the Congress of attempting to gain political mileage from the situation.
The BJP has maintained that the government and political parties must ensure peace and prevent protests from turning disruptive. The party has also criticised what it described as the Congress’s attempts to politicise issues involving students and protesters.
The Congress, meanwhile, has continued to raise concerns over the handling of protests and alleged police action. Opposition leaders have demanded accountability and called for the grievances of students and other affected groups to be addressed through dialogue.
The exchange between the BJP and Congress reflects the wider political battle in Jharkhand, where protests have increasingly become a point of confrontation between the ruling establishment and opposition parties.
With both sides trading accusations, attention is now focused on whether political leaders will engage directly with protesters and find a resolution, or whether the issue will continue to fuel political tensions in the state.
The developments are likely to keep the Jharkhand protests in the spotlight as opposition parties press their demands and the BJP defends the government’s handling of the situation.
