GURUGRAM — The Gurugram Police have initiated a suo motu inquiry and launched a manhunt after a woman biker was hit and thrown off her motorcycle by a speeding car on the city’s busy Golf Course Road. The entire sequence was recorded on an action camera mounted on the victim’s motorcycle, with footage of the road rage incident quickly going viral across social media platforms.

The incident occurred on Sunday when the rider, identified as content creator Sia, was riding her sports bike alongside members of her biking group. According to her statement shared online, the occupants of a white hatchback began closely tailing her and behaving aggressively. Despite her hand gestures urging them to maintain distance, the car pulled up alongside her, with the occupants allegedly demanding that she pull over. The rider noted that the men appeared visibly intoxicated.

Moments later, as seen in the dashcam footage, the vehicle swerved aggressively across lanes and clipped the side of her bike. The impact knocked Sia onto the asphalt, sending the heavy motorcycle skidding dozens of metres down the corridor. The driver did not stop to render aid and accelerated away from the scene. While fellow riders pursued the car and confronted the driver at a subsequent traffic signal, the motorist denied responsibility and sped off once the light turned green.

Taking cognisance of the widely shared video, Gurugram Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 125 (endangering life or personal safety) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Sector 56 police station.

Investigators traced the vehicle via its registration number and questioned the registered owner, who claimed he had lent the vehicle to an acquaintance days earlier and was unaware of the crash. Three special police teams have been deployed to raid suspected hideouts across Haryana to apprehend the driver. Police officials reiterated a zero-tolerance approach toward reckless driving and road rage, confirming that strict punitive action will follow once the suspect is detained.
