Noida, India: In a major boost to India’s aviation infrastructure, Noida International Airport officially commenced passenger flight operations, marking a significant milestone for the National Capital Region. The inaugural commercial service was operated by IndiGo, with its first flight arriving from Lucknow on the opening day.
The launch of passenger services at the airport is expected to ease congestion at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport while enhancing connectivity across northern India. Aviation officials and government representatives hailed the development as a transformative step toward strengthening regional air travel and economic growth.
The first IndiGo flight from Lucknow was welcomed with a ceremonial water cannon salute upon landing, symbolizing the airport’s operational debut.
