“PM Modi Calls for Calm, Consensus Ahead of Crucial Monsoon Session of Parliament”

Source Hindustan Times

New Delhi: Ahead of the highly anticipated Monsoon Session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday delivered a strong message urging political parties to maintain decorum and prioritize constructive debate over disruption. Emphasizing the importance of dialogue in a लोकतांत्रिक setup, the Prime Minister remarked that there is “no need for any storm,” signaling his appeal for a smooth and productive session.

Speaking to the media, PM Modi highlighted that Parliament is the right platform to discuss issues, raise concerns, and find solutions through meaningful deliberation. He expressed hope that all parties would contribute positively, ensuring that legislative business is conducted efficiently and without unnecessary interruptions.

The Monsoon Session is expected to witness intense debates on several key issues, including economic policies, inflation, national security, and ongoing political controversies. With the opposition gearing up to corner the government on multiple fronts, the Prime Minister’s remarks are being seen as a preemptive call to avoid repeated adjournments that have disrupted previous sessions.

PM Modi also stressed that the public expects accountability and results from their elected representatives. He underlined that frequent disruptions not only delay important legislation but also undermine the spirit of democracy. “The country wants progress, not paralysis,” he added.

Government sources indicated that several important bills are lined up for discussion and passage during this session. These include reforms in infrastructure, digital governance, and social welfare schemes aimed at boosting economic growth and improving public services.

Meanwhile, opposition leaders have maintained that they will continue to raise pressing issues affecting citizens, including price rise and unemployment. However, they have not directly responded to the Prime Minister’s appeal for restraint.

Political analysts believe that the tone set in the opening days of the session will determine whether Parliament functions smoothly or faces repeated disruptions. The Monsoon Session, therefore, is likely to be a crucial test of cooperation between the government and the opposition.

As the session begins, all eyes will be on how political leaders balance confrontation with cooperation, and whether PM Modi’s call for calm leads to a more productive parliamentary proceedings.
