New Delhi: Droupadi Murmu is set to present the prestigious Padma Awards during the second round of the civil investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening.
The ceremony, one of the most significant events in India’s civilian honours calendar, will recognise individuals who have made exceptional contributions across diverse fields such as art, social work, public affairs, science, medicine, literature, education, sports, and civil service.
The Padma Awards—comprising the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri—are among the highest civilian honours in the country. These awards are announced annually on the eve of Republic Day and are later conferred by the President in ceremonial phases held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
During this second investiture ceremony, several distinguished awardees from across the nation will receive their honours in the presence of senior government officials, dignitaries, and family members. The event highlights the government’s continued recognition of excellence and service that has positively impacted society.
Earlier this year, the first phase of the investiture ceremony saw numerous eminent personalities being honoured for their outstanding achievements. The remaining awardees are scheduled to receive their accolades in today’s ceremony.
