Pune, Maharashtra: In a chilling incident that has stunned the region, a 20-year-old woman, identified as Siya Goyal, has been accused of pushing her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal, into a deep gorge at the historic Lohagad Fort near Pune.
According to police officials, the couple had visited the popular trekking destination earlier this week. What initially appeared to be a tragic accident soon took a dramatic turn when inconsistencies emerged in Goyal’s account of the incident.
Authorities stated that Goyal claimed Agarwal had slipped and fallen while they were exploring the fort परिसर. However, further investigation, including witness statements and preliminary forensic findings, suggested possible foul play. Police now allege that an argument between the couple may have escalated, leading to the fatal push.
Emergency services were alerted soon after the fall, but by the time rescue teams reached the spot, Agarwal had succumbed to his injuries due to the steep drop and difficult terrain.
