Foreign Ministers of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) nations convened for a high-level meeting, emphasizing the critical role of the Indo-Pacific region in shaping global economic growth and stability. India’s External Affairs Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, underlined that the Indo-Pacific must continue to serve as a driving force for global prosperity amid evolving geopolitical challenges.
During the discussions, representatives from India, the United States, Japan, and Australia reiterated their commitment to maintaining a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific. The ministers highlighted the importance of strengthening regional cooperation, ensuring maritime security, and promoting sustainable development.
Jaishankar stressed that economic resilience and connectivity across the Indo-Pacific are essential not only for regional nations but also for the broader global economy. He pointed out that supply chain stability, infrastructure development, and technological collaboration remain key priorities for Quad countries.
The meeting also addressed pressing global concerns, including climate change, emerging technologies, and disaster response coordination. The Quad members agreed to deepen cooperation in these areas, recognizing that collective efforts are necessary to tackle shared challenges.
Officials noted that the Quad continues to evolve as a platform for practical collaboration rather than a military alliance. The grouping aims to deliver tangible benefits to countries in the Indo-Pacific through initiatives focused on health security, clean energy, and critical infrastructure.
The latest meeting reflects the Quad’s growing significance in global diplomacy, with member nations seeking to balance strategic interests while promoting peace, stability, and economic growth in one of the world’s most dynamic regions.
