Chennai: Political developments in Tamil Nadu have intensified after the state Governor asked TVK chief Vijay to submit concrete proof of majority support among MLAs. The move comes amid growing speculation over government formation and shifting alliances in the state.
According to sources, the Governor has formally requested Vijay to demonstrate that his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has the backing of a majority in the विधानसभा. This step is seen as crucial before any decision on forming the government can be taken.
The Indian National Congress has extended its support to Vijay’s claim, indicating that it is willing to back TVK in the current political scenario. Senior Congress leaders have suggested that a coalition arrangement could ensure stability in the state.
However, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has refused to support the move. Party representatives have clearly stated that they do not back Vijay’s bid for power, adding further uncertainty to the evolving situation.
Political analysts believe the Governor’s decision to seek proof is in line with constitutional procedures, especially in a scenario where no single party has a clear majority. The coming days are expected to be crucial, as Vijay and his allies work to gather the required numbers.
Meanwhile, discussions and negotiations among parties continue behind closed doors, with Tamil Nadu witnessing a rapidly changing political landscape.
