Vanished: Key HR Figure at Center of TCS Nashik Harassment Investigation Remains at Large

NASHIK — The investigation into allegations of systemic sexual harassment and professional misconduct at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Business Process Services (BPS) unit in Nashik has taken a sharp turn. Police have identified Nida Khan, a senior HR Manager, as a central figure in the escalating scandal. However, authorities confirm that Khan has gone “underground,” complicating the pursuit of justice for the victims.

The case, which has sent shockwaves through the Indian corporate sector, began when several female employees came forward with harrowing accounts of a toxic workplace environment. According to police filings, the complaints detail a culture of exploitation where female staffers were allegedly subjected to inappropriate advances and pressured for sexual favors in exchange for job security or career advancement.

The Role of the HR Manager

Investigators believe Nida Khan played a dual role in the alleged abuse. While HR departments are traditionally seen as the primary recourse for employee safety, Khan is accused of:

Enabling the Abuse: Allegedly acting as a conduit or facilitator for senior male executives involved in the harassment.

Suppression of Complaints: Victims claim that when they attempted to report incidents internally, Khan allegedly intimidated them into silence, threatening termination or “blacklisting” within the industry.

Active Participation: Some statements suggest Khan was directly involved in orchestrating private “meetings” under the guise of official duty.

Police Pursuit and Legal Action

The Nashik police have conducted multiple raids on Khan’s known residences and hideouts, but she remains untraceable. A Lookout Circular (LOC) is expected to be issued to prevent her from fleeing the country.

“We have recorded the statements of over a dozen employees. The evidence points toward a structured pattern of harassment. Nida Khan’s disappearance only strengthens the suspicion regarding her involvement,” stated a senior official involved in the probe.

Corporate Response

TCS, India’s largest IT services firm, has maintained a stance of “zero tolerance” toward harassment. In an official statement, the company confirmed it is cooperating fully with the Nashik police and has initiated its own internal audit of the branch’s leadership.

The company has reportedly suspended several other individuals named in the First Information Report (FIR) pending the outcome of the investigation.

A Growing Outcry for Safety

The Nashik case has reignited a national conversation regarding the safety of women in the BPO and IT sectors. Labor unions and women’s rights activists have gathered outside the Nashik facility, demanding the immediate arrest of all suspects and a complete overhaul of Internal Complaints Committees (ICC) across corporate India.

As the search for Nida Khan intensifies, the police have appealed to the public for any information regarding her whereabouts, promising anonymity to whistleblowers.
