Election Commission Allows Fresh Enumeration Forms Instead of Form 6
The Election Commission has introduced an important relief measure for voters in states undergoing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. People whose names are missing from the draft voter list will now get another chance to submit their details through Enumeration Forms to have their names included in the final voter list.
The decision is expected to help eligible voters who could not complete the earlier verification process or whose details were not properly recorded.
No Need to Submit Form 6
Under the new arrangement, eligible voters in SIR states can refill and submit their Enumeration Forms to get their names added to the final electoral roll. This means they do not have to depend on Form 6 for this particular process.
The move is aimed at making the voter verification process easier and giving people another opportunity to ensure their names appear on the final list.
Why Is This Decision Important?
The Special Intensive Revision is being carried out to update voter records and improve the accuracy of electoral rolls. During this process, the Election Commission checks voter details and works to identify missing, incorrect or outdated information.
However, some genuine voters may fail to find their names in the draft list due to incomplete forms, verification issues or other reasons.
The fresh Enumeration Form option is expected to reduce such difficulties and help eligible citizens remain part of the electoral process.
Voters Should Check Their Names
Voters in the states covered under SIR should carefully check the draft electoral roll and confirm whether their names are included. Those who find their names missing should follow the latest instructions issued by the Election Commission and contact the concerned Booth Level Officer (BLO) for assistance.
A Step Towards a More Inclusive Voter List
The latest decision gives eligible voters another opportunity to protect their right to vote. By allowing fresh Enumeration Forms, the Election Commission aims to make the revision process more accessible and ensure that genuine voters are not left out of the final electoral list.
Voters are advised to complete the required process within the announced deadline so that they do not face problems during upcoming elections.
